Your Biggest Green Sin: Take the New Poll

May 4, 2008 by Peggy

Do you recycle? Have you bought things just because you love to shop?

lizard_in_the_grass.jpgThis month’s enticing poll is called “What’s your biggest green sin?” You may find the poll hiding out in the sidebar.

And you don’t have to pick one of our answers. My, there must be millions of green sins. Feel free to add an answer.

You’ll notice that Jennifer and I will be blogging on the poll choices this month. Maybe that will help you decide!

Either way, please vote by the end of May. And be honest. We don’t know who says what.

Image via MorgueFile. I don’t have anything against lizards. I just had trouble coming up with a photo for this post. He’s kind of stern, isn’t he?

Hey! I used to have a pet lizard – just like this fella. He was too cute, but I suppose a little stern. I voted. I voted on the paper. I do buy recycled – but not 100% of the time. I was thinking of art paper too. With all the art Cedar does, it’s expensive to buy all recycled. Of course, we recycle the used, but it’s better not to buy new.

Jennifer, so you used to have pets then. I see…

You know..I am pretty good about all of those…but…there are times…when…Oh the horror…
I have to have chocolate NOW and i dont care if it is fair trade or not. ALso, with the recent family upgrade to 12 people to cook for, rather than 8, and Marc losing his job..I am more likely to buy cheap as opposed to organic.

Well, one. He was so cute too. He’d get raspberries all over his little nose. An ex boyfriend got custody though, but it was fine because we stayed friends, meaning I still got to see the lizard.

Confession: I voted for the unused appliances/charger, but I don’t buy much organic produce either. Most everything else we’ve conquered. But the produce is expensive and I feel like we just started really eating healthy! Now the transition to expensive healthy is a whole ‘nuther chapter…

I drive a SUV but it’s a hybrid and in Colorado I think that four wheel drive is pretty important. But I do balance it with biking 3-4 times a week.

Also I’m bad about the printer not at home but at work. I’m trying to find a new job and so I’ll print off the entire job posting to make sure I cover everything in my resume and cover letter. I do recycle the paper though and print on both sides.

DramaMama, I also voted for not always unplugging my unused appliances. I try to buy organic produce as much as possible, but what I want isn’t always available. I do honestly believe that the more people buy organic products, the lower the prices will fall.

N&J, I’ve heard Colorado is a great place to bike. Have you tried making PDFs instead of printing the job listings? I do this with lots of things like online receipts. I just go to print, then it gives me the option to make a PDF instead. I save it to a special folder where I keep all my PDFs. I’ve been meaning to do a post on this and how it’s helped me avoiding printing so much. I’ll do that soon.
