Contest: WIN a Cute & Reusable Kid’s Shopping Bag from Envirosax

by Peggy on March 13th, 2008

There are so many reasons to take a reusable shopping bag with you to the store: help prevent litter, save wildlife and decline a plastic bag made with petroleum. Plus, reusable bags can be so much more fun!

Envirosax specializes in artistic, eco-chic shopping bags. And their new kid series is no exception. Check out all six designs here. It’s never too early to start teaching kids about respecting the environment. These kid-friendly bags can help kids remember to take their own bag to the market.

The very nice people at Envirosax are sponsoring a contest to give away one of their new kid series bags to THREE lucky winners.

Winners will receive (from top left) either Jessie & Lulu, Dogasaurus or Rusty.

The contest is open to anyone (except me and co-blogger Jennifer) who has a child, grandchild, niece, nephew, neighbor’s kid, etc. to give the bag to. But we’d like to hear from your kids.

Here’s how to enter:

•Ask your child this question: “How should we take care of the earth?” This includes the air, the water, plants, animals and people!

•Come back here and leave a comment on this post with your kid’s answer (and first name if possible). After the contest, we’ll compile all the fun answers on a page for blog readers to visit.

•Enter before midnight (CST) on Thursday, March 27. We’ll randomly choose three winners on Friday, March 28. Each winner will receive one reusable kid series shopping bag. (Sorry, I can’t let you pick a design since more than one winner might want the same one, but they are all colorful and fun!)

Good luck! And start asking kids, “How should we take care of the earth?”

I asked my 6 year old daughter, Kaya JAde, and here is what she said:

“We don’t throw garbage on the Earth and we pick up litter. We have a compost instead of putting it in the garbage. We use cloth diapers on our baby because they are softer and do not go in the garbage. We bring our own bags when we go shopping.”

Corbin told me “more better than we are now.”

I had to probe for some specifics, but his response was to “take down the factories and stop polluting the air.”

Well, I know I can’t officially enter, but I asked Cedar the question and he said, “By not using paper” and “by not littering.” BTW, I asked him if we don’t use any paper how we’ll write stuff and he said “on old foam” - so, huh? Weird kid.

When I asked my 3 year old daughter Kennedy how we can save the earth she said “by cycling”. I think she meant “Recycling” because we make it a point to sort all of our waste with her into the recycling bins. But if she meant riding a bike that would work too!

“We have to plant lots of trees because they make the earth green and give us oxygen. And everyone should get a dog and clean up their poop.”

My six year old said, “If people litter picking up their trash, help uummm people learn to love the earth like I do, make a garden and turn off the water when you are brushing your teeth.”

My three year old said quite emphatically, “I think teaching people to be nice to trees.”

Thanks for all the really sweet entries!

Deb, I agree with cleaning the dog poop — smart kid. I have to step over it a lot at my apartments because others aren’t considerate enough to follow the rules.

My 7 year old daughter says by cleaning it by picking up all the trash and throwing it away. Go to the beach and plant stuff to make it from falling in the ocean (we did this every year living in NC) Recycle paper and plastic. yeah that’s how you help the earth.

Hi, What a wonderful contest! The bags are very cute. Rusty is my favorite. We had a dog named
“Rusty!” Alex says we should drive cars less, take shorter showers, plant lots of flowers and take care of the animals. Please enter us in your drawing. Thanks very much…..Cindi & Alex

Oh those bags are so cute!
    I asked my son Noah and he answered;
Well you need to think! don’t throw away good trash you can reuse. Don’t leave the water running when you brush, use both sides of the paper when you draw and alway be kind to animals and nice people!

I asked my daughter and she replied that they should have a contest for who can pick up the most amount of trash and whoever does wins an award and a puppy.

  • Peggy
    Mar 22, 2008 at 10:31 am

    Yes, it is adorable.

It was actually Jennifer’s suggestion that kids provide an eco-tip. I’m glad she thought of it.

“Good trash you can reuse” only a kid could think of that! : ) And something tells me Amber’s daughter likes puppies.

  • Jennifer
    Mar 22, 2008 at 11:01 am

Amber too funny. Although, sadly, it’s not very ethical for us to be sending puppies through the mail. ;)

That would be cool if she won the puppy bag though - good luck.

I asked my 6 year old daughter Arden and she immediately started singing the Jack Johnson song from the Curious George Soundtrack…”reduce, reuse, recycle.”

My 2 year old Rena heard her and said “Doos, Use, Cycle.”

My 8 month old Guinn just drooled at me when asked. :)

Great answers! Nancy, I like Curious George so much that I actually went to the theatre to see it. When I quit my advertising job I got a going away party with the Curious George movie theme. It was like a kid’s party for a 30-something year old. : )

I also really like that Jack Johnson soundtrack. That’s a great one for kids.

Ok, enough about me. Thanks everyone.
