What’s Your Favorite Reusable Bag?

Jennifer told you about her reusable bags, and I also reviewed my bags.
Some of you mentioned that you use ChicoBags.
What about everyone else?
If you’ve gotten new bags this month, we’d love to hear how you like them so far. Or if you have a favorite brand we haven’t mentioned, let us know.

I have found that just by “doing” - actually using them - I get more “converts”! I have people stop me and ask where I got my bags.

My favorite is a recent bag by one of my favorite illustrators: http://www.seadogpress.com/seadog/sea_togs/index.shtml who handcuts and prints at her own press in Massachusetts.

I bought a giant purse on sale at Old Navy last summer, and it has been my reusable bag ever since. At $8 CAD, it’s not that much and kinda stylish! And because it IS so handsome, I never leave home (or car) without it.

I love my chicobag because it’s always there when I need it, but honestly my favorite reusable bags are the 99 cent ones I got from Wegmans a year ago. They are all still in great condition, they hold a ton of groceries, and I take them everywhere. The farmer’s markets, to the pool with our reusable plates and utensils for eating our picnic dinner there, to carry things in to friends’ houses and of course for groceries.
They aren’t stylish, they look like black grocery bags with handles, but they are very functional. That’s really important to me.

Wendy-
Those Green Concept bags are so cute! We’d like to know how they work out for you.
Robin-
It’s great your .99 cent store bags have held up that long. I have a couple that I use mostly for sorting my cardboard recycling or if I have overflow from my plastics/steel container.
Eight-
I haven’t been to Old Navy lately, but I do seem to remember now that they offer a lot of totes throughout the year. Thanks for the tip.
Giftofgreen-
My sister, who just moved into a new house, loves designs like that. She’s into the Celtic stuff, so I might just have to get her some as a housewarming gift. Great find!
Beth -
I’ve had that same experience. I always refer people to reusablebags.com since that’s where I got mine and they have such a large selection. I do really like it when people ask. I forgot about that.

My chicobags are awesome! They are always in my purse.
But I love the one I got from reusablebags.com that says “Plastic Bags Blow”.
Trader Joes has some really cute ones too.

I haven’t bought any new ones YET. All month I’ve been trying to decide which ones to get. hehe I do want some Chico Bags (waiting on my friend to get her farm store going, because she’ll be selling these) and I need produce bags. I did get a free bag from Earthbound Farms in the mail yesterday. It is a very bright purple, has their logo and says “Making a Difference, once choice at a time”. It is tall, but not very deep. So I am not sure if I’ll use this for groceries or what. I’ll miss all the bag reviews, but maybe now I can make a decision. LOL

My favorite is still my bag from ALDI. I haven’t made new ones since my sewing machine bit the dust. Didn’t even know until I went to make some!

How about letting each of your kids decorate a cloth bag of their own to use when they come grocery shopping with Mom? If you let them know that the things they want have to fit in their bag, that could cut down a lot on your grocery bill, too. Once you stuff in a cracker or cereal box, there won’t be room for much more. :<} susan

Allison, I was wondering about that Plastic Bags Blow bag. Good to know it’s lovable!
Jodi, too many choices? : ) I hope you love the ones you pick.
Julie, if you can sew, you should try to get your machine fixed! There are too many cool things you can do with it.
Susan, that’s a great idea as long as the kids don’t forget to de-bag at the register ; )

I love my resusable SKN bag! It started out as something that I thought I would just “try” for groceries. Now, I cant imagine going to the market without it. It not only offers the great ecological benefits of a reusable bag, but it actually makes carrying groceries so much easier- somehow, things seem less heavy when they are in the bag. It is amazingly sturdy, washable, and compact- not to mention VERY cute!!!! Its not just for groceries anymore- I use it all the time, and really do LOVE it!

my wife and I love the SKN bags. We have a set
of five that we keep in the car for shopping.
they’re always handy and hold a ton of stuff.
American made all cotton canvas is the best
we’ve seen.
