Tree Hugging Family - Living Green

Weekly Green News

by Jennifer on February 19th, 2008

There’s been some interesting green news out there for tree hugging families this week. What has been going on? Well…

In the news:

The effect chemicals have on the male reproductive system.

Hundreds of Investors Discuss Climate Risks, Opportunities at U.N. That must have been a lively little party (yawn) - actually they were talking about some good stuff including how to get, “Congress to pass a mandatory national policy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 60-90 percent below 1990 levels by 2050.”

There’s a new book on greenwashing out - a book, that I’m sure, I’ll be taking a look at soon (I’ll report what I end up thinking about it later).

Sweden Uses Humans to Heat Building! Sweet.

New Study Finds Heavy Human Impacts on World’s Oceans - shocking I know. Are you surprised? I’m not. When I lived on the beach, you would not believe some of the terrible things I saw people dumping into the ocean, and the stuff they’d leave on the sand for the tide to pull in. Many people act horribly when it comes to our areas of water. This is a great read because it’s the first global study on the matter.

Nike Makes Shoes From Trash: Which still won’t convince me to give them money, but, it’s a small step for that big fat company.

Love the design and specific idea for your blog. How have I not been over here before?!? :)

I love the article about the Sweden human heat exchange. Those Scandinavian nations have a great deal to teach us about living green.

Hey, want to do a link exchange?
