Tree Free Notebooks

These spiral notebooks from The Banana Paper Company are sold by Eco Papers. At $3.75 for 80-count ruled butterfly-notebook.jpgnotebooks, they’re not much more expensive than tree paper.

The Banana Paper Company combines post-consumer paper with banana fibers to produce a high-quality paper. Then they include the cutest covers you can imagine. The middle school bunch would love these.

In addition to the frog and butterfly notebooks pictured, monkey and dolphin notebooks are also available. The covers are printed using water-based inks on a kraft cover.

I bought recycled paper composition books (3/$2) and 70 page notebooks (6/$1) at my local grocery store last. I doubled what I needed because the prices were so great and put away the extras.

This week, the sale is over, and the composition books are $2.79 each (compared with 99 cent unrecycled paper ones) and the notebooks are $1.70 each (compared with the unrecycled paper ones that are now 6/$2)

Thankfully I haven’t had to buy any this year. I bought a whole case last year for hubby and he hasn’t gone thru all of them yet. I think we barely put a dent in the box. Next time I buy them I will be buying recycled paper notebooks.

Robin, it’s great that even grocery stores carry recycled paper notebooks now. Also — catching them on sale, wonderful!

Kisha, good goal. It’s been a while since I’ve been in school, but I do remember how long it takes to go through notebooks. The spiral ones always seemed to fall apart before I used all the paper.

Just thought I’d let you know, Stopped by the Banana Paper Company to order. Their stuff is darling, but it’s been 6 weeks since I ordered, and my order is still listed as processing. I got a quick response when I wrote, saying they had shipped them the week before, and it takes 12 days to get them. It’s two weeks since I wrote, 3 since they said they were shipped and I still don’t have them.

Point being, they are not a short turn around, so if some one needs them by a certain date, they should order WELL in advance!
