This Earth Day take the time to set whole year, whole life, green goals
Hope everyone is having a nice Earth Day… I’ve been collecting some cool earth-minded family posts over the last week, so I could share them today.

I tried to pick posts that can help you live every single day greener. Earth Day is fine and dandy, and I’m pleased that so many celebrate on this one day, but it’s not enough. Use these posts to get into a mind set that every day is Earth Day. We can’t save the world in one day, that’s impossible.
From the emails I get telling me that I’m nuts for even considering the dangers of global warming and bleach it’s easy to get frustrated. It can make it seem like we’re actually doing minus what we should be doing. We’re not just up against hard topics, we’re up against hard topics and all the people who one, don’t care, or two, don’t believe we’re facing hard topics.
The posts below are easy takes on the every day issue of living greener. Easy for anyone to try, easy to take, and maybe they’ll lead to more and more green steps in your every day world.
Here’s what I found:
First up, if you haven’t heard, TIME has gone green with the current issue waging war on global warming - I need to pick this up, to see what they have to say beyond their website. However, what I can tell you is that they have an absolutely stunning photo essay on trees in the issue. It’s a must see.
The 20 Most Earth-ish T-shirts on the Web - this post rocks
Try slowing down - it’s not always a great idea to live in the fast lane
Make your own solar water heater!
Natural nail polish remover - something I’ve been looking for forever - nail polish, not so eco-friendly, and I still like it, this will help.
Books to teach kids about the environment
The freedom of frugality - with a nice calm, family/green slant
Get your own lead paint tester for toys
Seriously take the time today to consider what you can do as a family this year to save the planet. The people who don’t believe we’re doing harm, who don’t think we cause major pains to the planet with our thoughtless actions, they’re wrong. I wish they were right, I wish we could just live any old way and be just fine, but deep down we know they’re wrong.
All of you reading this, the people thinking about what they can do, the individuals who are taking small steps every day just may be what saves the earth and the health of all of us who live here.

Thanks for the round-up! I’m interested in making my own solar water heater, though after reading the article, it sounded a little more complicated than I had imagined. Great ideas!

Hey, Happy Earth Day Rebecca! Solar stuff can be somewhat complicated, but, it’s good to know we can create power without help from the utility grid. Maybe you should start with that solar jar we had on here. :) We’re going to make a few this summer.
