Proper Disposal of Oil

Just one gallon of oil poured down the sewer can contaminate 1 million gallons of fresh water, says The Nature Conservancy. The EPA estimates that 1 million gallons of water is a year’s supply for 50 people.
Why is used motor oil bad for water?
It can contain toxic chemicals and heavy metals. Plus, it just doesn’t degrade very well or quickly.
