The Gift of Nothing

The Gift of Nothing by Patrick McDonnell is a simple little book that describes the search for a perfect gift. Finally the searcher realizes that all along, it’s really the gift of time spent together, that matters most. A nice easy story for young children about how stuff isn’t as big a deal as our overly commercial society makes it out to be. I’m not sure that was the original sole intent of this story, but that’s message kids will get. Time is better than stuff.
