Green Videos to Adore – Green Videos for Kids

Here at Tree Hugging Family, I’ve shown a fair share of green videos. I thought I’d collect some of my faves, and re-post them, in case you missed some.
First – a round-up for the kiddos…
This first video is hands down my most favorite recycling video for kids, by kids (ok older teens) of all time. These kids are so flipping funny and so on target with the music and how the video was cut. I laugh every single time I watch it.

One Small Step: Solve One Green Sin (At Least Partially)

One of our green sins in the poll has taken a strong lead…
That’s right, clearly the sin of, “I leave unused appliances and chargers plugged in all day” is something many of us do. All appliances from your chargers to your lamp suck up energy even when they’re turned off, so long as they’re plugged in.
I don’t unplug everything. The things I don’t unplug include the TV, because it’s got some funky, “If you unplug me you’ll have to reprogram me” deal going on, and I’m not TV savvy enough to figure out why. I also don’t unplug my computer. …read more
Recycling Video for Smaller Kids
One of my earliest Sesame Street memories is of the cartoon where a cartoon earth is singing about not trashing the earth. I LOVED it. It was the first time I remember thinking about my impact (really). It’s kind of remarkable because this was in the 70s and green issues were barely making waves, yet, Sesame Street had it covered, at least somewhat. Currently, Sesame Street often shows really cool shorts about saving water and electricity. Plus they discuss recycling and trash control a lot.
