Rubberwood: Does it Bounce?

No, but rubber trees produce a latex sap, the primary source for natural rubber. While rubberwood doesn’t bounce, it can be a good green choice for furniture.
I had not heard of rubberwood until Michael and I were shopping for a wedding anniversary present. I found rubberwood furniture at several stores, such as World Market and Target. So, why is it a green choice?
A rubber tree is only cut down after its useful life of producing latex sap has passed. So, the tree lives about 30 years before being repurposed for furniture and replaced with a new tree. And with the …read more
