Recently, Marye from Kettle & Cup was kind enough to give Peggy and I (and Tree Hugging Family) a “You Make My Day” award.

Marye awarded it to ten people, so Peggy and I are supposed to spread the love to ten new people. We decided the best thing to do would be for Peggy to award 5 people and ditto for me. The post right before this was Peggy’s award post, and she gave out some love to some great green bloggers.

Now I get to choose some worthy winners; and I think that I’m going to divert from greenies. Just for this post.

Let’s see now; who manages more often than not to make my day….

In no particular order:

Gayla from Supernanny Rules: Now, Gayla is a good friend to have, and an excellent blogger, but more importantly, she’s our kick %$@ Lifestyles Channel editor here at b5media. Which may lead you to believe that I’m a kiss up. But believe you me, I’ve had dozens of blog editors, and the bad ones make your life miserable day in and day out. The good ones make all my days easier. Since Gayla is one of the very best editors I’ve had, she’s getting an award.

Liberty aka the Snarkstress is getting an award because she always remembers to check in with me (even when I slack),she remembers the holidays, and little facts that matter. She’s one of those funny, real, always nice people that you’re lucky to get to know, so she’s getting one of my award slots.

MoCo Loco should get an award. I think that they have many bloggers, so I guess this award goes out to the blog in general. Mainly because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad post there. Every day I visit, it’s a great day. There’s a new house to drool over, some mod bookshelf/couch/plant stand I love, or just oodles of shiny artistic goodness.

Tracee from Blog Fabulous gets my next award. For mostly the same reason that I always mention her, she cracks me up – hard core. Not every day, some days she makes you think as well. I also think Tracee deserves the award because she shares. I’m a big blog sharer, I like to talk about my son, share pics, and info. Some bloggers shy away from sharing the more personal stuff, but Tracee always shares, and I really enjoy blogs like that.

Last but not least, miss Deb from various places, but maybe you know her from Simply Thrifty, gets an award. Deb may be the one blogger I talk to daily, and she’s always got something good to share. She sends me jobs, is an excellent cheerleader, and she pretty much gets where I’m coming from. She’s an all around great friend day in and day out so she obviously gets an award.

So, to everyone above, thanks for making my day – now it’s your turn to go and spread some award love.

Here are the original rules:

“Give the award to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blogland. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times.”

Keetsa has the scoop on eco-friendly buses.

The Not Quite Crunchy Parent has a great list of item names you may see in cosmetics and body care products and what they mean.
And last but not least, Eco Child’s Play has an outstanding looking book that all green (and somewhat hippie) mamas need for their kids.

Something about me that most people don’t know is that I am seriously addicted to musicals. Seriously. Even the corny ones like Sound of Music — hence my holiday festive title.
Tuesday seems like a good time for some link love. I usually spread the love from all corners of the web but today I’m going to focus on b5media blogs because lately our network is overflowing with amazing posts. And now, on to the links…

Happy Joyful Links:

First up, maybe the most important posts you’ll read this whole holiday season are from Kate at Babylune. You may have noticed that yesterday I posted about Big Brothers & Big Sisters of America for Kate’s contest challenge, The Generous December Group Writing Project.

Kate’s goal is to get people writing about their favorite helpful organizations and charities. So far she’s done a great job and received many entries which she bundled together in easy to read packets. I highly suggest that you go take a look — Kate has a part one and a part two up. If you write a contest post you could be included in part three.

Please give a warm welcome links:

Two of my favorite girls in the blogsphere launched new blogs here at b5media this week. Please head over and give them a nice warm happy welcome. Both blogs are great holiday reads.

All Holiday Cafe: All holidays all the time! What a clever concept. My super swell pal Liberty is manning this blog so it will be amazing times infinity. You could be there from the start and why not; who knows what holiday you might be missing. You probably already missed “Eat a Red Apple Day” I’d head over before something worse happens.

Kettle and Cup: I already mentioned this one I believe, but it’s worth mentioning again. Coffee, tea, pots, and water; all kinds of coolness related to our favorite warm beverages. You’re going to need a drink to go with all the holiday cookies so go visit.

DYI Links:

Need ideas for stuff to do? b5media has got you covered.

Create a herb garden gift for a friend.

Get those kids in the kitchen and make some cute treats.

Two links that rock my world:

Blog Fabulous says women are powerful in many forms and I agree. Do you?

13 Sources of Workplace Irritation: Very funny stuff; in a sure makes me glad I work at home kind of way. Although, oddly, even working online and at home you run into some of this stuff.

Shameless Self Promotion — plus win stuff just cause I like you link:

I’m having a month long contest at another blog of mine, Offbeat Homes. Why. No reason. Mainly, I guess, because I don’t do contests at Offbeat and since it is the holiday season and since I do adore my Offbeat readers I figured why not give stuff away. Think of it as a holiday spirit / reader appreciation deal. If you aren’t already an Offbeat reader you should be. Offbeat will liven your days with oddness, beauty, and form. Nice. Here’s a sneak peak of the kind of stuff you’ll see at Offbeat Homes…

Long-time favorite EcoStreet has 5 of the best green and ethical social networking sites — perfect for getting your social green groove on.

The next few links are all from the same place — but I can’t keep up. I think Deb at Simply Thrifty is trying to out-green me. That’s cool though; the more green the better. Some fine reads from her include:

33 Things You Can Recycle

How to install a rain barrel

And a post that everyone in the country should read right this second: What People Spend on Food. This post may seem more thrift minded than green minded but it’s super eco-important. Follow the links in Deb’s post to learn more. You will be astounded. Remember the first green step is use less and waste less.

By the way; you can actually get your very own lovey green heart dish like the one pictured above (or other cool pieces) from Firework Studio.
