Test Your Dishes for Lead

The FDA regulates lead and cadmium levels in dishware here in the U.S. Not that the FDA catches everything; dishes have still been found in the U.S full of lead, but it’s one regulation that’s supposedly in place. Imported dishes are not under regulation.
You can test your dishes for lead with lead strips. The FDA offers a dish check (but note that it’s not the easiest to follow). If your dishes have lead you can recycle them or even break them to use for drainage in flower pots. You can also buy 100% lead free the next time you need …read more
