The mimosa is not just a fruity cocktail, but a pretty cool tree. Otherwise known as the Albizia julibrissin or silk tree, the mimosa has lots of neat components that make up the whole of the tree….
Such as beautiful silk-like fragrant pink to yellow flowers that appear in mid summer.

Five Fascinating Tree Facts

Today is youth day here at Tree Hugging Family and we’re going to look at trees all day. Mainly because trees rock, but also because I forgot to hug one this week – yup, feeling a little guilty.
One of the best reasons to conserve trees is simply that they’re so amazing. There are tons of cool facts about trees, but these five are some of the most interesting.

Hug This Tree: Blue Jacaranda

The Blue Jacaranda is a newer tree to me. I was looking for something else, when I came upon it. I was really struck by how beautiful it is though; so, today we’re giving it a great big hug.

Amazing!  Really lush and such a great color.
