Inspiration to Clean Green

This video is an interesting, obscene (sort of) green take on the Scrubbing Bubbles commercials. It’s sponsored by Method. Their website, PeopleAgainstDirty.com, encourages you to voice your concerns about getting better labels on household cleaning products.
You can read about the Household Product Labeling Acts that, if passed, would require manufacturers of cleaning products to list ALL ingredients on the label. With or without this act, you should never purchase a “green” cleaner that doesn’t list its ingredients on the product label. If you do, you’re likely buying greenwash, not a truly eco product.

Changing the Clocks

How funny I’m writing here again exactly one year after I left before, and on the very date that we turn back the clocks!
Jennifer has done a really great job with this blog from the very beginning, and I’m sad to see her go, but will still be reading her green writing online.
You’ll see a few things change (like the blog look, again), but some things will stay the same too. I’ll feature truly green products, not greenwash. And tell you my honest opinion in product reviews.

More on the Palmolive eco+ Situation – Is It Even A Little Green?

In my last post; Are We So Clean That We’re Breeding Super Germs? I noted that next I’d cover why I think the whole Palmolive eco+ Gel Dishwasher Detergent issue is bunk. Peggy wrote about how Palmolive is greenwashing – I agree. Not everyone agreed though.

Greenwash: Palmolive eco+ Gel Dishwasher Detergent

You have to be careful.
Any manufacturer can paste the word “eco” on something. Palmolive’s new eco+ dishwashing detergent is the ultimate in greenwash. I’m a bit angry about it. I think my blood pressure may even be raised. Seriously.
The truth is that you have to read all the ingredients on a product, even when “eco” is plastered all over it. The problem with this detergent is that it doesn’t list the ingredients. (And those fragrances — naturally inspired doesn’t mean a thing. I’m guessing there’s nothing natural about their fragrance.)
