Big Green Purse by Diane MacEachern will give you the tools you need to make environmentally sound spending decisions. The book is geared toward women since they spend .85 cents of each dollar in the marketplace. I can see the book working in the family library as well, but males may want to skip some sections of the book, like those dealing with cosmetics.

I HATE when people call me “Jen” I usually won’t answer. I don’t know if Peggy hates being called “Peg” but guess what, my title rhymes! Neat-o. It could almost be a song. Now that would be cool. Actually someone did write a song for me once, and it had stuff about squirrels in it, and bike helmets, so it was a little green I suppose… but I digress.

Meryl Streep’s Top Green Product Picks

This list is from last year but it’s new to me because I guess I missed it. If you missed it as well it’s an interesting read. The article appeared in The Green Guide; now owned by the National Geographic Society. You can check out how to receive the Green Guide by download or in print at their website.
Anyway, the list is pretty extensive and has some useful green-minded ideas on it. Streep has everything from edibles to bedding and jewelry to electronics. Well worth a look to get some ideas for usable family green items.
