Hug This Tree: Blue Jacaranda

The Blue Jacaranda is a newer tree to me. I was looking for something else, when I came upon it. I was really struck by how beautiful it is though; so, today we’re giving it a great big hug.
Amazing! Really lush and such a great color.
This sub-tropical tree can be planted in most places without major frost – many of the most lovely ones I’ve seen photos of are in New Zealand but they’re native to North America I believe. Hug This Tree: Yellow Poplar

The Yellow Poplar, is one of those trees that makes you think of a really great park. Nice and tall, up to 200 feet, beautiful broad leaves, and it spreads nicely.
Sometimes called the “tuliptree” because of it’s lovely blooms, the Yellow Poplar is the state tree of Indiana. It has soft white wood too, but not so soft that you can’t use it – although, unused is fine. It’s beautiful left alone.
Honestly, I don’t know that I’ve seen this tree, except in photos. Maybe, but I can’t remember – it seems like I would.
