Strawberry Face Mash
June 2, 2008 by Jennifer
Strawberries have naturally high levels of salicylic acid – you know the stuff found in anti-acne creams, washes, and lotions. You can save your cash and use strawberries on your skin (cheaper than a tube of cream – that usually can’t be recycled).
- Mash up enough organic strawberries for your whole face – or mash one for spot treatments.
- Add a drop of tea tree essential oil (optional – but also an acne fighter).
- Add a little cornstarch; about a tablespoon per 1/4 cup of berries. This will help it stick to your skin.
Wash your face. Apply the berry mixture and wait 10-15 minutes. Rinse.
An alternative mix could include organic blueberries too – rich in natural antioxidants, blueberries have been shown to reduce scarring, smooth skin, and increase healing, if say your skin is affected by a harsh treatment, such as a face peel.

Hm, I have a ton of fruit in my fridge right now. I like making face mashes straight from the fridge on hot days or when my skin needs a lift.
Face mashes on hot days are the best. I like that toner I posted a while back because it’s kept in the fridge – so perfect for hot days. Those types of things really cool you off.
