Spring Ducklings Hatched

May 3, 2008 by Peggy

hatched-mallard-egg.jpgYou may remember my other Saturday posts about the Mallard hen nesting near my apartment.

The little peeps hatched. I did see the ducklings swimming on the other side of the lake, but I didn’t have my camera with me that day. Hopefully I’ll be able to photograph them later, but they are great at hiding.

The hatched eggs weren’t going anywhere though!

One of my favorite things about living in Boston was the ducklings in the spring. They are so used to humans that you could go down to the Charles River and get pretty close to them especially if you had bread or something.

N&J – I loved Boston when I visited. I like how they include nature in the heart of the city.
