Reusable Bag Challenge Update – How Did Your Entire Month Go?
June 30, 2008 by Jennifer
This month we’ve all been working hard on the reusable bag challenge. Now is your chance to tell us how you did.
Myself: I did pretty good. I only ended up with the one lame video store bag. Thankfully, I averted some clerks during the month, who were trying little sneaks, like re bagging my fruit into plastic. One bag is not so bad. I worked really hard to take my bags with me everywhere. I basically always kept them in the car, which worked well for pet store trips, and other quick stops.
Now, how did you do? Also, look for a bag round-up post. I’m going to try and gather all the bag posts together in one place – yikes.

I collected around 3 bags. I think that number is right — it’s been a long month.
I did well…0 but dh on the other hand brought home maybe 5-6.
30 lashes with a wet noodle for him!
I got one bag. My brother in law got some baby wipes at the store for us on his way here. Who gets a bag for a tiny thing of wipes?? Oh well. We got one bag.
I sometimes forgot our bags, but since my purse is a tote I was able to throw most things in there, or we used my husbands pockets.
We brought home 6 bags. I tried very hard to remember and even asked the checkout clerks at several places to take the items out of the bags they had put them in. I got a few weird looks. But I told them what I was doing and they all thought it was great.
My husband brought home a bag from the drugstore. He bought 2 packs of Reeces Pieces and 1 pack of M&M’s. Why would you need a bag for 3 packs of candy? I think he was too embarassed to ask them to keep the bag.
I have been lurking on the site for a bit more than a month. I loved this challenge and can’t wait to do another.
I thnk we brought in aboout 6 bags as well. Half were from DH not telling baggers no bag please (his *excuse* is we had run out of bags for the small trash cans…). We did make a quick grocery run, and I forgot my bags. But I was getting over a bout of food poisoning, and totally forgot. LOL I ended the month with a quick diversion from getting another bag at Target. I told the boy TWICE I had my own bag, and he still starting putting items into a plastic bag. I almost had to yell, but he finally heard me and he pulled the items out and placed them into my bag. hehe Target does have some cute organic cotton bags on clearance for about $6. But they are small and really would only be good for using as a purse/tote, not shoopping.
