Organic Halloween Smoothie

October 22, 2008 by Jennifer

I saw this Whole Foods recipe a long time ago in Fitness Magazine. When I first saw it I switched some stuff around to make it organic; but it’s still good – better even.

pumpkin_smoothie.jpgYou’ll need:

  • 1 cup organic canned pumpkin
  • 1 cup organic milk (you can use soy, or another milk as well, it works fine)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/3 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2/3 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice
  • Whipped cream and cinnamon as a topping (if you’d like to get fancy)

To make:

Blend everything except the ice until smooth. Add ice. Blend more, until thick and creamy. Garnish with your whipped cream and cinnamon.

This makes 4 decent sized servings.

Enjoy!

Oh my, this is one I’ll have to try. I’ve been stuck on the Pumpkin Cappuccinos at our local coffee shop, but they’re not exactly healthy. Maybe these will be a good alternative:)

Yum. I may have to finally replace that blender.
