One Small Step: Silicone Baking Cups

November 18, 2007 by Jennifer

In the previous evil-filled post; Peggy noted her issue with paper baking cups and then Marye the ever helpful baking mama reminded me about Silicone Baking Cups which are amazing. Marye has an entire review and post about them at Baking Delights so hop over there to check them out.

I will say that these baking cups are great. They’re reusable so save both paper and money. Also, they come in fun shapes that kids will adore.

If you get the cool silly feet cups you and the kids will have hours of fun making cute little guys like this:

You can read more at Baking Delights and buy these cups at Wilton. One small (and fun) step that reduces paper waste, transport waste, and energy consumption.

Thanks marye and Jennifer. Now I have something to put on my Christmas list.

Marye, do you use these with a muffin pan or alone? I just got a nice muffin pan last year for Christmas : ) Yes, I’m a baking freak.

  4. marye says:

Peggy- I do a little baking myself.
You can use them either way..I prefer a muffin pan for stability but have used them without it and had success.

  5. Those little cupcake guys with their silly feet just made me laugh out loud! Never mind what the kids think, can’t we all use a bit of bright-coloured kitchen silliness? What a great find!

You’re welcome Peggy; although Marye deserves all the credit — this was one good green thing I never considered. They’re so cool.

Jen ~ They are fun huh. My son loved the photo.
