One Small Step: Make Your Own Coffee Drinks & Snacks
June 16, 2008 by Peggy
Starting with coffee drinks and ending with yummy homemade ice cream sandwiches, here’s a list of recipes that might inspire you to make it yourself.
Brewing your own latte or making your own biscotti helps cut down on waste like disposable cups or plastic packaging.
Sure, you can always take your own cup to the coffee shop, but do you always do that? And if you’ve never made your own biscotti, you’ll be amazed at how much better it tastes than the stuff all wrapped in plastic. Plus, it’s much cheaper!
For dessert freaks everywhere who want to cut down on pre-made treats bought outside the home, the following list is from several great cooking sites at b5media: Kettle and Cup, Chocolate Bytes, Baking Delights, Noodles and Rice, Robust Cooking, Foodie Obsessed and Busy Family Meals.

Awesome! I’ll be checking these out for sure. Thanks Peggy for posting these.
That’s funny, I forgot about the oatmeal bars I’d posted. I need to link to that so I don’t forget again.
Thanks for hte linkage!
I hope you find something Jodi! : )
I do always take my own cup to the coffee shop, but I rarely go anymore. Too expensive. I’m surprised you made this list Peggy, but it’s awesome list, and a really nice small step. Plus kids really enjoy baking. We made biscuits the other day, and now Cedar’s drawing pictures of people holding biscuits with jam (weird child) but it shows how kids respond to baking time.
Jennifer, I rarely go to the coffee shop anymore either, but I thought about this list because I made an espresso yesterday afternoon. The day before, I made an iced latte. It’s really not as difficult as I had thought.
When I do go to the coffee shop, it’s always unplanned and I almost never have a cup with me. I do bring back the cup to be recycled though. Those frap cups at Starbucks are recyclable at least.
Thanks for the mention, and the link:) I’ve been skipping the coffee shop too lately. I’ve been making my own coffee, or soy lattes:)
