My Dream Bag - Haiku Ultimate Messenger/Diaper Bag

by Jennifer on June 2nd, 2008

I have a lot of dream bags. You know how some people like purses or shoes? Well, I like messenger bags, cool hippie bags, and other amazing bags. Usually (and sadly) bags that cost more than I’m willing to pay. However, this being reusable bag month, I’m going to indulge and share some of the bags I drool over. Probably for my next everyday bag I will splurge and get one - my current everyday bag is a patchwork hippie bag that’s falling apart.

This one is the first dream bag on the list, and it’s a heavy contender. Haiku Ultimate Messenger/Diaper Bag. Yeah, I know it’s a diaper bag, but it doesn’t look like one. It comes in various colors, but I’m obsessed with the bamboo green bag. It’s so me.

Ah. Look at the embroidery:

Stats:

  • 16″w x 11″h x 5.5″ d - even fits most 15″ laptops, making it more that just a diaper bag!
  • 7 pockets including:
  • a padded pocket (for a laptop)
  • a large center compartment,
  • 2 side pockets for bottles and a zipper pocket for keys or a subway pass
  • adjustable strap with an ergonomic shoulder pad
  • rubber feet to protect the bottom
  • spring clip to attach your keys

Just what I need want. Available at The Spotted Goose Company.

More dream bags to come this month. You could always tell me about your dream bag too.

I really like the Haiku bags too. I keep looking at the ones over at REI. I have to say I also really love diaper bags because of all the little pockets (I’m an oganizer freak). My son is 11 so I don’t have a need for one but so many of the new ones are sooo cute I wouldn’t mind having one. A company called Petunia Pickle Bottom makes really adorable high end baby bags. Very retro vintage chic, but sadly very pricey as well.

@lucinda I love the Petunia Pickle bags but I don’t think they have as many pockets as the Haiku bags. But I do love the vintage look of them. I always blog about them at my pregnancy blog.

That is an awesome bag! Pricey, though!

Here’s one I have really liked for a while, even though it’s a “kids” bag. As long as I can put a paperback in it along with whatever else I’m fine with that size!

I like that kids bag - I like the khaki one a lot. There are a lot of bag choices out there, if you look beyond ‘grocery’ bag.

Well, it’s not my dream bag, but I have a favorite that I use for the grocery store. I posted about it over at my blog! I’m still looking around for my dream bag. I saw some on etsy I liked too - mostly I should just go find some funky fabric and make my own! That way I definitely get what I want…

yes the bag is nice a little dull though has anyone seen the bags at pyknyk.com they have 9 pockets and they come with free gifts the changing pad is attached to the bag and there is even an extension. the bag is soooo elegant I have been using it for months and it looks like I just bought it.It is really spacious and is made of real leather the price for the quality is very good only 160 dollars for genuine leather I think I will be able to use it for the whole year.
