I also carried metal lunch boxes to school. I believe one of my favorites featured the Fox and the Hound. That's all that were available then. If we were fortunate, we got a new one when school started. (With four in the family needing lunch boxes, book bags, pencil boxes, and clothes, new lunch boxes weren't always in Mother's budget.) That's what my daughter used, too. Then hers became crayon boxes and craft supply containers. Metal lunch boxes remind me of my school days. That’s all that were available then.
