Metal Lunch Boxes

August 20, 2008 by Peggy

Now that we’ve discussed avoiding vinyl lunch boxes, let’s have fun with some cool metal ones. All right. These are ALL from Target. Some are only available online, and others may have a free shipping offer.

Metal lunch boxes are almost indestructible. Just don’t kick them. If you use a metal lunch box enough, you more than cancel out the impact of its being manufactured. Plus, I really like the vintage look of these. I’m guessing middle school students and high schoolers might like them too.

Tootsie Roll Lunch Box This one is made in the USA. Includes candy, so that may be a negative for you! $24.99

  1. Metal lunch boxes remind me of my school days. That’s all that were available then. If we were fortunate, we got a new one when school started. (With four in the family needing lunch boxes, book bags, pencil boxes, and clothes, new lunch boxes weren’t always in Mother’s budget.) That’s what my daughter used, too. Then hers became crayon boxes and craft supply containers.

  2. I think those are really cool! I also carried metal lunch boxes to school. I believe one of my favorites featured the Fox and the Hound. I don’t know if kids will think they’re cool or not, as I am not tapped into the kid lunch box scene.
