Make Tracks This Weekend!
October 8, 2008 by Peggy
The National Wildlife Federation is encouraging families to “trade some screen time for green time” this Columbus Day weekend.
Get exploring, like Columbus. And you don’t even have to go further than your local trails and paths. Visit Make Tracks for a list of supplies, tips for family activities and NatureFind — a database to locate the best nearby trails and parks by entering your ZIP code.
Make Tracks is part of National Wildlife Federation’s Green Hour campaign which asks parents to provide their children with a daily dose of pure fun and unstructured time in nature.
Are you planning any outdoor activities this weekend?

Would love to spend some time outside this weekend, the colors and weather are perfect! Might go for a walk in the woods
What a great idea! I’ll have to tell bay area residents about it.
Hey thanks for putting our banner up! We’re very excited about the positive response this event has received. It’s free and you don’t have to spend much time — or any — in a car!
