Make Some Wind Clackers

May 24, 2008 by Peggy

Laundry-Clacker.jpgClack! That can be a fun noise to hear, right?

The caps that come on laundry detergent bottles aren’t always recyclable, but they are reusable.

Laura at Thrifty Fun contributed a nice set of instructions on how to make Recycled Wind Clackers. Visit Thrifty Fun for the complete instructions.

This is a fun project to complete with kids since it teaches the value of reuse. The items needed for the project include a peanut butter jar lid and four liquid laundry bottle caps.

Since some drilling is involved, adults will need to help with this project.

Do you have a special way that you reuse your laundry detergent caps?

This looks like a great project to bad I “re-use” my caps (use melaleuca soap) so I think for this I will have to get some from a friend. I know she will have plenty, lol.

Kisha, I agree. They shouldn’t be too difficult to find!

This might look kind of cool on a clothesline if anyone has one. Or maybe on a garden hook to scare birds away from strawberries or veggies?

  3. This is one way of making the most out of our trash.

Great idea! I have about 100 lids and was wondering what to do with them.
