Last Minute Father’s Day Gift!

June 11, 2008 by Jennifer

So, this gift is sooooo last minute, that you might not get it in time for Father’s Day, but I bet you money, he’ll love it anyhow. Late or not. You do have to give me a small break. I didn’t meet my own dad until about three years ago – this Father’s Day deal is pretty new (and a little awkward to me).

The gift idea:

Recycled Vinyl Art!

Now, I’ve discussed said vinyl art created by Daniel Edlen here before. Well twice actually. Please see:

Recycled Vinyl Art and Win Vinyl Art for specific information about these cool recycled projects.

While you can’t win any right now, I’m posting again about this art because one, I think it would make a wonderful gift for a dad who likes music, and two, Daniel is a cool kid. He recently emailed me about a special deal he has going on.

The deal was to celebrate his 100th blog post. (I’m a little late – again I get a break, right?) In any case, Daniel says, “To keep costs down, as well as give the customer more choice, I’m selling them also unframed, with a clear coat to protect them, for $100 shipped. That way, people can frame them as they’d like, or simply hang’em with a nail through the hole.”

This is a super deal on original and cool recycled art. Just in case you forgot how cool these are, here are some recent additions that your pop might enjoy:

Bono

Billie Holiday

John Lee Hooker

I’m not sure if there’s a limit on who you can get painted for this nice $100 deal, but you can ask questions about this at the 100th post. I think you can get whoever, but don’t quote me on it. Maybe Daniel will come by and let us know. Even if you don’t go with the new deal, any of the albums in Daniel’s gallery would make a fine gift for dad. There are plenty of choices that span from rap, to country, to rock, to my fave, hippie folk.

Thanks for the post, Jennifer! I really appreciate your continued support.

To address your uncertainty about who one can get painted for $100, that is for single portraits. The only additional charge would be $10 more each for additional people painted on the same record.

It would make a great gift because it comes in the original sleeve. People’ll think it’s just a cool album they remember and then you tell them to look at the record and watch their face. Combination of “what is that?” and “woah!” Priceless.

    Peace.

Thanks for clearing that up :) I agree the sleeve issue is way fun, and a great surprise.
