hmm, I hate walmart two but will run in there for one or two items that i either can’t find anywhere else or are significantly cheaper there – and there’s not much that’s cheaper there then at Meijer… (I live in an area with Walmart, Target, Meijer and Kroger right next to eachother so it’s not an extra trip)

But stores tend to put their reusable bags right up front so I probably wouldn’t even have to go that far in it to get them…

I’ll admit that i need bags that have a decent aesthetic to them. I love this company; i bought a bag from them from a gift store where I love but I believe they are going to be sold online soon. The very roomy tote comes with 6 cotton produce bags…cool company that is carbon neutral and donates 20% of profits to an envionmental charity….how refreshing that an ‘eco’ company is actually walking the walk!

@sharleen Welcome! Maybe I should go to whole foods. $5 is not bad. If they’re cloth. I want machine washable. Cedar and I toss our current bags around and drag them and stuff. They get dirty.

@Jodi Method has bags? Like method soap? I haven’t seen them.

We have 7 bags that we tend to use for grocery shopping. 5 cloth and 2 from Martins/Giant Markets. Then I also have 2 bags from Method and a WWF cloth bag from JC Penneys that we use for regular tote bags and when we go clothing shopping. I will most likely need to replace 4 of my cloth bags soon. They are about 15 years old now.. and are getting pretty nasty. So we’ll use them for around the house things then (or for trash bags on nature walks). I personally can’t see spending a ton on bags. I like the store ones best, as most grocery stores carry them now.

HI! I just met you through a search for popsicles and think this is a really cool site as I’m trying to be a bit more treehugging in my ways. Anyways, I use the $1 bags from whole foods, yes they say whole foods all over them. They are as big as a brown paper bag and can hold a ton of stuff. I have 5 and that is more than enough for a $150 shopping trip. So, they’re not pretty, but for $5 they do the trick!
I would like to get some light weight bags for bulk items and produce. That’s next on my very long to do list.

@Wendy I think it’s a little silly to pay a lot for bags; but I don’t buy much, and I want them to last a long long time, which is my justification I suppose. We don’t have a food lion.

You should check out the bags at http://www.minusbags.com. They are made in the US of 100% cotton and come in colorful abstract designs. They hold a LOT of groceries and are very lightweight, yet strong. And if you buy 3, you get one free!

BTW…Food Lion for those that are near one has bags too for .89 cents and they are small and thin…stay away!

lol not offended at all..Walmart is not my favorite place either but I do like the bags…and yes they do have their name on the bag in a corner…not so noticable.I personall feel like $40 for bags is a waste of money(although they are pretty)
