Hug This Tree: Pomegranate
February 4, 2008 by Jennifer
I don’t think I ever knew how pretty pomegranate trees are. Then I was looking around recently and found the Papaya Tree Nursery. This nursery has the single most incredible tree photo gallery that I’ve quite possibly ever seen. The had a pomegranate tree (among others) and I swear, it was like love at first sight. These next two photos are from the Papaya Tree Nursery.

Beautiful. Sadly, you can’t order from this nursery. So if you live nearby, in Granada Hills, Ca, then you’re good to go. You can order these odd little Miracle Fruit Berries from them though. But, I digress, back to the tree. Amazing, right?
Here’s some basic tree tips and ordering information from another nursery.
Of course the fun part is eating them; or maybe seeing that tree in bloom. I can’t decide. Eating them is fun…

Pomegranate fruit is sweet and bursting (?) that’s the best word I can think of. For recipes, facts, nutritional info, and much more visit the Pomegranate Council. Who knew there was a council? There is, and it’s a nicely put together site; bright, easy, and fun.

That is beautiful. They remind me of little lanterns.
They do sort of look like lanterns. I think they look like peaches, but huge ones. Maybe not? Hmmm.
Pomegranates are my absolute favorite fruit, but I never saw a pomegranate tree before! How cool. Thanks for sharing!

Kristen, did you have a lot of time the other day? You were surfing a lot of my posts; not that I mind. I do think everyone should see a pomegranate tree before they die – they’re lovely.
