Hug This Tree: Heirloom Peach Tree
August 25, 2007 by Jennifer
This tree is a great one to hug, proving not only cool shade but beautiful purple foliage and darling small juicy white peaches.
You can order your very own fruit tree, or seeds, bulbs, and other growing treats from T’s Flowers & Things.
For kids I found a great fruit tree site; Fruition. A neat collection of easy facts about fruit trees, why tree picked fruit is better than store bought and a great collection of books about fruit trees for kids.

Hey,
I was just about to write Miller Nursery in regards to my purple-leaf peach tree because I do not know what variety it is. I just bought this house (with an orchard) and this purplish tree is there. Last year I thought it was a plum since it did not bloom. This year it bloomed pretty pink flowers (I still thought it was a plum) until it set fruit. Tiny golf size fuzzy peaches ripened. The taste was not too bad either.
What kind of tree is this (i.e. is there a species name)? I bought a home and found this purple leafed tree that was poorly maintained. After some love and care, it fruited small peaches the next spring-summer, a little bigger than a golf ball. I am eager to learn more about this tree. Thanks for your help.
