How What You Eat Affects the Environment
May 7, 2008 by Jennifer
GreenLivingBuilding.com has an interesting post up – What You Eat (or don’t eat) Helps The Environment Most. We’ve discussed this issue here before, but this post is a good read. It’s got some stats neatly laid out which are trying to prove to you that
“What you eat affects our environment more than most anything else.
…more than switching to a hybrid car
…more than switching to mercury free lightbulbs
…more than recycling”
Personally, I think it’s a mixture of issues that affect our environment most; with consumerism heading up the situation. However, this post is not off base at all. Foods we eat both by type and packaging really do make a huge difference. Read the post, then come back and review some of our previous posts about healthier, less packaged foods to eat.

Jennifer I just have to say you are my favorite blogger of all time (no offense Peggy I really like you too) I read all your blogs and love the information that you provide. You’ve made my journey to being green easier with ideas and support when everyone else thinks I’m being crazy. So thank you for you posts.
Kamber, I just have to say that this is one of the nicest comments ever
It totally made my day. Thank you. AND thanks for being crazy green
– well, we know you’re not crazy. But of course, other people act like green is silly to downright lame at times. I try to ignore them.
