Homemade Beauty Links I LOVE

by Jennifer on June 11th, 2008

It’s a crazy week, so instead of sharing some of my recipes, I’m going to share some of my favorite recipe links. Now, here’s the deal. I don’t always find organic body care recipe links. Do I make the item organic - why yes, and you can too. Almost any homemade beauty care recipe can be converted to organic easily. Also, if an item in a recipe doesn’t suit me, I’ll change it up.

Don’t forget to read Homemade Beauty Products – Safety 101 before you get started.

My fave links:

bodyglitter.jpgChannel your inner princess with homemade body glitter: I don’t do makeup, but I admit it; I am sort of into my sparkles from time to time. This would also make a wonderful gift for a child.

Homemade beeswax lip balm: Too many ads at this site, but a good recipe.

End of summer body scrub

A cool collection of lotion bars - I’ve altered many of them, but they give a great jumping off point, and some I like just how they are. These are nice because they’re non-messy.

Nice starter cleansing cream recipe: Alter with fruits, milks, or oils if you like.

Plus one random recipe I’ve never tried: Homemade Deodorant Recipe

    Hi Jennifer,

brilliant article - thank you! I especially love the link to the lotion bars. I’ve been making my own things for a few years, but never made a lotion bar. Thanks for the inspiration.

I’ve not use a ‘dry’ deodorant either; I mix up witch hazel, glycerine and my favourite essential oils for a spray that smells so lovely :) I’ve heard great things about the bicarbonate of soda route though.

Thanks Mrs Green, lotion bars are pretty cool and it seems easy to alter them any which way you choose.

Linette - good! I’m glad you’ve found some stuff to use. Now, are you going to make glitter!

I just might, it’d be great for a little girls spa, or tea party:)
