Edible Flower Recipes that Kids Will Adore
June 17, 2009 by Jennifer
I’ve been seeing some awesome flower recipes around lately, plus summer, and all the flowers are in full swing, so I figured I”d share. If you’ve got a kiddo who doesn’t love veggies, flowers may be one way to entice your little one to eat a salad or brown rice dish.

That said, you need to be safe about the flowers you eat…
- Never eat a flower unless you’re 100% sure it’s safe many flowers are poisonous.
- Always wash flowers – lightly so as not to spoil them though.
- Only eat organic flowers. You don’t need to munch pesticides.
Here are some killer flower recipes for you and the kids this summer:
Flower butter for on top of fresh bread.
Candied Flowers – beautiful and fun – maybe atop a fresh carrot cake for breakfast!
Three cool recipes – fried squash blossoms, pineapple sage sorbet, and riot of color salad.
