If you want to snazzy up that college dorm, and still stay green try some of these ideas on for size:
Big Twin Cub from Small Factory Design:

The Knú Bookcase via Vivavi – small and sleek
- FSC certified wood
- Powder coated steal
- Eco-friendly varnish
- 100% carbon-offset production

100% industrial wool felt Mediapocket via Branch.

Organic Cotton Canvas Laundry Bag via August Moon Organics:

More ideas:
Recycled Juice Clock via Earth Friendly Goods:

Water hyacinth storage box with handles via Shared Earth:

Shower totes – these are harder to come by in eco-friendly form, so you’re going to need to get creative:

Really any sort of reusable tote that can handle water is ok; especially, if you’ll use it to death, but if you can find a recycled bath tote or basket, even better.

Love the juice clock. It’s making me want some OJ.
Thanks for all the great eco ideas! It is so important for everyone to do their part – especially students moving away from home and living on their own. I love the juice clock too!
Good luck everyone with college and have fun!
Great ideas. I love the use of eco-friendly boxes for practical storage. Sustainable bowls made from recycled materials are also a fun and practical way to store school necessities and brighten up a dorm room.
Love the products, but they’re not affordable to most college students or their families… It would be great to see examples of old items bought at garage sales and thrift stores turned into stylish and functional pieces for the dorm, with how-to instructions.
