Birthday Cake Recipes
February 13, 2008 by Jennifer
My little Cedar turns 7 this Saturday. 7 years! That’s old – holy. In any case I can’t let the week pass without doing some green birthday posts.
Why not start with cake? I rounded up some cool cake recipes – some are organic from the get-go, others are just basic, but of course can be adapted to organic. Just replace all the conventional items with organic – simple.
Classic Yellow Cake with Bittersweet Chocolate Frosting

Fat-Free Vegan Chocolate-Orange Cake
Rose-Scented Lemon Cake which obviously should be served with Honeysuckle Sorbet
One-bowl Flourless Organic Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Glaze
My favorite find of Marye’s from Baking Delights – the super cool Tie Dyed Cheesecake

Enjoy – just don’t make them all at once. Watch for a post soon about how to actually bake a little greener for your next birthday bash.

rose scented lemon cake?
YUM!!
These sound great, so which one is Cedar getting?
Yeah right, Cedar would never eat any of these. You know how I’m so picky – well, he is a million times pickier than I am. Flower scented foods overall are good to me though.
Happy Birthday to Cedar!
Happy Birthday again!
And I am going to make that Tie-Dyed cake for my daughter’s 6th this april.
I was doing the Choclate Orange cake for my science project, “Organic Vs. Sugary and just thought you’d like to know I TOTALLY recomend that cake!!
