@Spurwing Plover - um, so why are you reading a tree hugging blog, if you think tree huggers are idiots? Also, do you think $40+ for a bag is reasonable? And if so why?

@Tracey I actually like Delight - I've found some excellent items there for my other blogs. In this case though, there's almost no way to justify this much for this bag; it's cute, but not quite that cute. Plus there are plenty of organic bags for less that you could iron on. But it's nothing against Delight, just the bag.

I will check out that reusable bag section you linked for sure. And thanks for being cool and open about the issue. Many people we review and don't like act a little nutty.

Hi everyone - Tracey here - I am the Co-Founder of Delight.com.
I'm glad you all can appreciate how cute this bag is, and I totally get that you think it is expensive for a reusable bag. If you read closely our text, you can see we love this bag for its overall use - more as a true tote, rather than strictly a reusable bag, in the grocery sense (of which we have many options):
"We fell in love with this stylish organic cotton tote which can be used as a reusable grocery bag, to tote your books, or just as a fab handbag. But, most of all we fell in love with Kermit The Frog. Can you blame us?"
You can check out our reusable bag and bottle section here:
http://www.delight.com/ECO-DELIGHTFUL/Reusable-Bags-Bottles
Since we launched we have made expanding our eco-friendly offering our #1 top priority, with the goal of easily integrating small things that add up to big changes. In April we featured a new eco-friendly item every single day for over 22 days - and we donated a tree via Trees For The Future for every single order that was made on our site that month.
Beyond that, we really do just love this bag, and the fact that it is made from organic cotton and has a cute message seemed to fit perfectly in line with our merchandise selections.

Oh - and Julie F - we won't delete your comment. We believe in transparency on Delight and we welcome lively discussion around our products. Of course, we'd rather not have things turned mean-spirited, but we do understand that not everyone will love everything, and we love that we can offer a platform for discussion around our products.
We appreciate your feedback, and MOST importantly - we've been fans of your blog for a long time. Hopefully we can win you over some day ;)

I can't decide who I am angrier with. The consumers who buy this junk or the people who make it. I saw the comments on the site where people were so happy to get this thing.

Man.

I'm SO starting a blog dedicated to pointing out the stupid Greening up for greenbacks.

Glad you liked my post, it started as a comment here, but it was going on for too long, lol.

I knew you'd agree Julie. Your post was good - like Peggy, I wonder if the license raises the price, but like you I don't much care. It's insane to expect people to pay so much for one bag. And I like adorable stuff all the time, and will pay for organic, but this is a little much; especially since it's not as if they have the market cornered. You can get organic or recycled bags that last forever, for a much better price.

My problem isn't the organics. It's the use of 'green' and 'organic' as an excuse to fleece consumers.

Kermit or not, it's shameful. I'll buy organic if it is a reasonable price. I commented before that I don't buy organic, but I meant not exclusively. When we shop the farmer's market, nearly all the farmers at our local grow organic. It's easy to buy it there. Just not at the grocery store, they charge a lot more.
